Tonight is Wedding Wednesday!!!
And I'm pretty excited about it. It's been a busy last week and there is LOTS to report on. I'll hit on the highlights.
Catering, we are getting in deep on this one. Erin and I will meet with one caterer tonight @ 6pm in Radford after getting her ring resized at a jeweler there. I have an appt with a caterer in Blacksburg for my Thursday lunch. I worked it out so I will be eating possibly catered food! 2 birds, one stone, why not? And next week I am talking to a gentleman in Roanoke who I am looking to meet next week after work at Rockwood Manor. So there are 3 caterers in 2 weeks. I have also asked my mother to set out a few self-catering options. This involves setting the show up ourselves, a bit more work, but I think doable. And strangely enough Curt (my best man) and I have catered a couple dinners for 100+ people for Valentine's day, so we have a bit of experience.
Photography! This is an aspect I am excited about. As many of you know I love photography and am not only looking for a good photographer for the big day, but also someone who I can learn a bit from. Erin and I had dinner with some friends and looked through their wedding pictures this past Monday night. The photographer was a friend of theirs and did nice work. It was good to get an idea of what we were looking for. I am hoping to get in touch with her soon to see if we can work something out. Also Leah (a friend of my Groomsman Drew Paulette) has decided to shoot the wedding as a project for fun. I figured she is into photography (works for the Virginia Tech school paper) and would enjoy the opportunity, I know I would. After all a goal long term of mine is to start some side work as a photographer. Maybe a wedding photographer?

Decisions made (by Erin):
- Erin purchased her wedding dress!
- Colors for the wedding are: Fiesta & Raspberry
- The guest list is still being worked on. When it is ready "Save the Date" e-mails and cards will go out
- The Web Page is being finalized.
- Working on booking a wedding coordinator and a rental company.
- Slimming down Honeymoon options!
- Erin is working on Rockwood Manor room arrangements.
In other news my 2nd mortgage was approved and I'm working on finalizing paperwork before March 1st! That's all for now.

Dang, that's harsh. I didn't mean to "remove my post". I just hit publish instead of preview. :)
We rented our own stuff (tables, linens, chairs etc.) and set everything up ourselves (with our bridal party the day of the rehearsal) and then had a company come in and set up the buffet. It was well worth the work on our part. We paid around $11 per person (for 225 people using the .8 formula) which was pretty good for hot finger foods on the large buffett. We also went to sams and party supply stores and bought our own silverware, plates, etc and found a cheaper place on online to order napkins with our names and stuff on them. For comparison purposes, full catering for the same things we did ourselves would have run close to $17 per person...a big difference.
So there it is. :)
