Update Thursday!
Well Wedding Wednesday was a success. We did the following:
- transferred the engagement party tapes to standard VCR tapes (for DVD creation later)
- sorted through the guest list and have an idea of # of invites: ~280 and # of attendees: ~225 using the # of invites *.8 formula
-> This information will now help with contacting caterers & rental companies.
- decided our next steps individually and as a couple : Caterers, Photographers & Rentals!
- found an officiant, a good friend of mine from the high school days: Scott Baker!
- planned a visit to Rockwood Manor on Saturday with Erin, the Collins family & Curt Waskey (Best Man)
- decided to play Ultimate Frisbee the morning of the wedding.
- Organized :)
- Decided to read 'Sacred Marriage' over the next 3 months, a book reccommended by multiple friends now.
That's all for now. We should have an official wedding site up within the next week with details, details, details...

Wedding Wednesdays
Erin and I have decided to call Wednesdays "Wedding Wednesdays" mainly because the plan is to get together after work and just discuss wedding details. Lots to go over tonight after selecting a location. We have final guest lists to review as well as next steps to plan out regarding (most likely) caterers and photographers.
In other news a good friend from Blacksburg, Curt Waskey, agreed to being my Best Man last night. And somehow I see him having a lot of fun with it. He is one of those people that it is hard to be stressed around.

Location Selected
This weekend a location was selected for both the wedding ceremony and reception. Actually it is more of a wedding weekend as we will have use of the property, home and barn (yes, I said barn). It should be a blast to be around those we care about so much all weekend!

Here are some photos:

Now to select caterers, rental companies, photographers, florists, wedding coordinators, musician, d's and a lama to ride off into the sunset on...
Here we go...
So I decided to start this blog after a friend of mine dropped a comment on another blog wanting to hear some details. I began to think about it and it made perfect sense. It'll be what I'm actually working on and some commentary. Hopefully colorful, and not just about wedding colors.. Yeah, bad pun, watch out!
I hope to not only use this as a place to sort of publish what I am up to wedding planning wise, but also as a way of gathering feedback from friends. Those who have ideas, have been there and just think I am crazy. So feel free to chime in with your pointers, comments and tips. And for everyone else, I already know I am crazy...
